The executive today authorized the transfer of S / 11 million in favor of 12 regional governments for the financing of health activities that include attention after the occurrence of rains and against the emergency due to frost and cold.
The regional governments benefited will be those of Piura, Junín, Apurímac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cusco, Huánuco, Madre de Dios, Moquegua, Pasco, Puno and Tacna. Some of these locations are among those most affected by the onslaught of the coastal El Niño, while others will be affected by the effects of frost, mainly in the high Andean areas of the southern highlands.
Most of this amount (S / 9.8 million) will be transferred to the Regional Government of Junín for the operation and maintenance of the “Daniel Alcides Carrión” Clinical Teaching Regional Hospital for a period of eight months.
Likewise, close to S / 400 thousand soles will go to the regional government of Piura to continue providing care for people as a consequence of the rains and associated hazards.
The rest of the amount (S / 695 thousand) will be received by the governments of Apurimac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cusco, Huánuco, Madre de Dios, Moquegua, Pasco, Puno, Tacna. This amount will be used for preventive and corrective maintenance of health facilities, as well as to guarantee the operation of ambulances that house the population affected by frost.
