COEN: jungle rivers remain on red alert for Peru rains

The levels of the Amazon and Napo rivers continue to rise due to the rains and continue to be on red alert, the National Emergency Operations Center (COEN) reported in its latest bulletin.Follow @socie_ECpe

It is specified that at 6 am today, the Amazon river reached 117.35 meters above sea level at the H – Enapu Peru station (Amazon basin), a figure higher than 117.30 meters above sea level. that reached yesterday in this same station. Currently its red alert is maintained due to the danger of overflow.

The Napo River is in a similar situation. At 6 am. Today it reached 90.91
m.s.n.m. at station H- Bellavista – Mazán (Napo basin), and yesterday at this
same station reached 90.86 masl. The tributary remains on red alert.

Unlike the previous ones, the Marañón and Ucayali rivers maintain the same level registered yesterday. The Marañón continues at 129.65 m.a.s.l. as reported today by the H-San Regis station; while the Ucayali, at the H-Requena station (Bajo Ucayali), continues at 128.10 masl.

Showers with electric shocks

The National Meteorological and Hydrological Service (Senamhi) has forecast moderate intensity rains with electric shocks from today until midnight in the regions of Loreto, Amazonas, San Martín, Huánuco, Ucayali and Pasco. In addition, light rain and scattered in Junín, Cusco, Madre de Dios and Puno.
