Who is TRANIELA CARLE CAMPOLIETO, the first trans pilot to command a flight with Aerolíneas Argentinas

Traniela Carle Campolieto is making history. A few days ago, she became the first female trans pilot to command a flight of Aerolíneas Argentinas and celebrated the event on their social networks.

“I will remember this day forever. Thanks to everyone who made this possible”, he wrote and accompanied the post with images together with the crew of the Airbus A330-200.

Likewise, in the last few hours he commanded a trip again, but this time he did it in the direction of the United States: “It is a great pride for me to have carried out the first international flight to Miami by a trans pilot in command.”

In addition to integrating the Diversity Commission of the Argentine Air Line Pilots Association, Campolieto has a more sporting facet: it is fitness competitor and also trainer.

Aviation was one of his first loves. Does 24 years working in the area and he has been an international commander for 11 years. However, May 24 was the first time he flew with his new identity: “Exercising the profession that I love so much.”

The publications he made were filled with comments celebrating what he had achieved. “I would think it is a world event. And just as you are proud, we are too. You represent us much more than you imagine. This is your dream fulfilled and for the rest it is still just a dream”, wrote a user.

Another of the heartfelt messages says: “Thank you because what you are doing is a huge step, which sets an example and encourages many people to be free in the air and in many other spaces.”

Without a doubt, Traniela sets a precedent and opens doors for more people: “It is an immense pride for me to be part of the fight to have an increasingly inclusive, diverse and tolerant society”.
