Spain reported an increase of 683 deaths by coronavirus and 5,756 infections, which resumes the downward trend, after two consecutive increases in fatalities in the previous days.
The balance in the country reached 15,328 deceased and 152,446 infected, of which 52,165 have already been discharged, after an increase of 4,044 cured patients.
Both the number of deaths and daily infections are lower than those reported in Wednesday’s report (757 and 6,180, respectively). The advance of cases this Thursday was 3.9%, the second lowest figure in recent weeks, only above that of last Monday, which usually has the “weekend” effect, a period in which the reporting count is delayed.
For his part, the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, appeared before Congress this morning to defend the proposal to extend the state of alarm until April 26, and considered that the controls have left the pandemic “under control.”
