From this Friday until April 12, Payment Market will reduce from 0,6% to 0 the sales commissions with QR code paid with money in account. The measure will apply to those businesses, entrepreneurs and SMEs that sell up to 50 thousand pesos per month.

As reported by the company to iProfessional In a statement, this decision is part of a series of measures the company is taking to support merchants and SMEs across the country in the context of the mandatory preventive social isolation brought about by the coronavirus pandemic.

The scope of this initiative will favor businesses, SMEs and professionals who use QR to process their sales. This segment includes “thousands of shops with basic needs such as warehouses, supermarkets, greengrocers and butchers, among others,” according to the company.

The average sales processed with this technology for this group of businesses is about 20,000 pesos per month. It will be available both for those who already charge with QR and for those who start using it these days. The company will send a notification to all merchants who will be able to use this benefit.

Any business or professional who wants to charge with this modality has to follow these steps:

  • Generate the QR code, print it and place it in view of the clients.
  • Customers scan it with the Mercado Libre or Mercado Pago applications, enter the amount and choose the payment method they prefer.
  • They pay with debit, credit or money in Mercado Pago account.
  • The detail of all sales will appear in the Mercado Pago account.

Another option is to enter the Charge section, put the amount in the calculator and select the option Charge with QR. There, customers will have to scan the code that appears on the mobile device to pay.
