Coronavirus | Tecnópolis becomes the largest field hospital in the country

The Government works against the clock to turn Tecnópolis, the science and technology mega-fair, into the largest field hospital in Argentina.

The objective of the Casa Rosada is get this gigantic healthcare space ready before the pandemic flares up, which in the Government foresee that it will happen in the second fortnight of May, when the level of infected reaches its maximum point.

The Villa Martelli property will be used to decompress the health system of the province of Buenos Aires.

Last Tuesday President Alberto Fernández toured the works together with the Minister of the Interior, Wado de Pedro and observed the tasks to complete the 2500 beds to be arranged throughout the 20 thousand square meters of the educational property, as recorded Clarion.

In Tecnópolis only infected patients cataloged as “slight”that is, they do not require intensive care. There will be one doctor and two nurses every 50 patients.

The Ministry of Defense also participates in the project, which contributed Army personnel for the assembly of structures and beds.

Once this first phase is ready, it could continue with a second section of the project that includes more beds and spaces for patient care.
