Quarantine: the Argentine University League organizes the third edition of its esports tournament


The third edition of the esports tournament of the Argentine University League (LUA) will begin in June. Different student leagues will play “League of Legends”, “Counter Strike: Global Offensive” (2 versus 2), “Teamfight Tactics”, “Hearthstone” and “FIFA 20”.

Registrations are open and free, until May 31. It is a requirement to be a regular student of some higher educational institution (university or tertiary).

The knockout stages will take place on the first two weekends of June. The finals will be on June 20 and 21. Additionally, the champion team of “League of Legends” will play an international friendly against a Brazilian university team on Saturday, June 27.

The first places will receive prizes. Different universities from all over the country have already confirmed their participation, such as the Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA), Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (UTN), Universidad Abierta Interamericana (UAI), Universidad de Mendoza (UM), Universidad Nacional de Tierra Del Fuego (UNTDF), National University of La Rioja (UNLAR), Torcuato Di Tella University (UTN), National University of Jujuy (UNJU) Argentina De La Empresa University (UADE), Da Vinci School (EDV), among others.

The tournament will be held online, with streaming in the decisive phases. For registration or information on how to follow the games, you must enter the site ligauniversitaria.com.ar.

The objective of this esports championship is to promote electronic sports, recreational and leisure activities in the educational environment.
