In a decade, Córdoba’s development market has shrunk 86%

Between May 2010 and last month, the sale of new properties and lots decreased in Greater Córdoba 86 percent, as reflected in the Ceduc Index.

The Business Chamber of Urban Developers of Córdoba (Ceduc) presented today the indicator prepared by the consulting firm Economic Trends, according to which development market activity fell in April 43.2 percent year-on-year, considering both financed sales and operations to the counted.

The indicator warns that the sale of apartments and houses fell 24.8 percent year-on-year, while that of lots fell 61.2 percent.

Instead, the garages were up 229.8 percent year-on-year. Although the report does not specify it, that rise may be the result of the sale of parking spaces that the developer Proaco began to make in its Pocito complex.

Activation of works

On the other hand, the businessmen of the Ceduc met Thursday with the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mining of the Province, Eduardo Accastello, and the Secretary of Industry, Fernado Sibilla.

The executives asked to consider construction as an industry, in order to enjoy the benefits of the productive sector, and their support in the dialogue it maintains with the Emergency Operations Center (COE).

The development entity presented a list of 60 works paralyzed with quarantine. For this he presented to the COE the Ceduc Protocol, a series of regulations that reduce the chances of contagion of workers with the Covid-19 virus.

“30 percent of all ventures are acquired by users from outside the province of Córdoba, with which, although it may seem strange, if we consider it from the point of view of the province’s trade balance, we are exporters of homes and lots” , assured the president of the Ceduc, Pablo Balián.
