CORONAVIRUS MAP in real time: how the virus ADVANCES

The expansion of the coronavirus has been a reality that has plagued the world for almost three months. Day by day they appear new cases, more people die and countries are forced to take action prevention, containment and of fight against him virus.

In order to follow the day to day of this advance, the Systems Science and Engineering Center of the Johns Hopkins University He created an interactive map that tracks coronavirus cases worldwide.

The tool collects data from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention USA (CDC), the World Health Organization, European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CCDC) and the Chinese website DXY, which aggregates data from the China National Health Commission and the CCDC. The results provide a global overview of coronavirus cases in real time.

The coronavirus case map is updated in real time as the global health agencies confirm more cases.

The interactive map shows the regions where the patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus: the more cases there are in a region, the bigger their point on the map will be (at this moment, the biggest point belongs to Hubei province, where the outbreak originated).

Lauren Gardner, director of the Center for Systems Science and Engineering and professor of civil engineering at Johns Hopkins, said in early February that the map is not just a resource for the public: Health officials can download the data, which will serve to research on the coronavirus in the future.

The map too puts the bud in perspective, with thousands of confirmed cases in mainland China and hundreds in other parts of the world.

In this graph, the Johns Hopkins University Center for Systems Science and Engineering shows the case confirmation throughout the year in mainland China (orange), other places (yellow) and the number of recovered patient cases (green).

CDC also regularly updates its Map from confirmed cases of coronavirus, although it shows cases by country instead of by region or city.

Coronavirus in Latin America

The coronavirus is in 14 countries in Latin America: Ecuador, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, Paraguay, Panama, Bolivia, Honduras and Cuba, and local governments have strengthened their measures in an attempt to control the pandemic. Brazil: 52 confirmed cases

Ecuador: 17 cases of coronavirus
